• The MIDI-monitor plugin is a handy tool for working with MIDI data. You can directly visualize all MIDI events, as they occur in your host. You can also expand the list of events using the Keys to operate with.
• The MIDI-Monitor plugin automatically passes audio data to an audio track on your host.
• The MIDI Monitor plugin also shows you all incoming MIDI events, as they are received from any input slot.
• You can play MIDI-events directly in an effect (non-audio) slot using a keyboard. The plugin will then pass the event to the audio track.
The MIDI Monitor plugin can be operated via a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI displays the list of all MIDI events and the values of the sliders.
As soon as you've opened the plugin, the list of all MIDI events appears. It can be expanded and closed via the buttons, the Expand and Close buttons. The events are grouped by MIDI channels (also called virtual MIDI tracks).
With the Keys to operate with there are a series of sliders for each MIDI event. If there is no default value given for a certain MIDI event, then you'll have to change the value of a certain slider to adjust the current value of the event.
To play MIDI events you simply press one of the keys. The MIDI events will be played or stopped, and the slider moved to the new value.
The active keys can be changed.
MIDI Monitor plugin uses the Inputs and Outputs section of your host to pass on the MIDI events.
You can add up to nine audio and MIDI inputs, and as many outputs as you like to your host.
On the left side of the plugin, below the list of all the events, you can see a list of all incoming MIDI events. There are 8 different event types: Note On, Note Off, Control Change, Pitch Bend, Program Change, Note Program Change, Channel Aftertouch, and Channel Pressure.
All these MIDI events can be played in any effect (non-audio) slot.
In the 'MIDI-Events' section of the dialog, you can scroll through all incoming MIDI events by using the up and down arrows.
The Events are grouped into each MIDI channel. If there are no MIDI events assigned to a certain MIDI channel, the screen will not show that MIDI channel.
